Some questions I asked Boonie Mayfield: Listen to the full interview

I UNDERSTAND that you’re  A MAN OF MANY TALENTS. You USE TO BE A DANCER (a nice one too) WHAT MADE  you stop dancing and started doing music?

*When you first started doing music, you were SAMPLING USING A DRUM MACHINE MPC 1000 right? WHAT MADE you GO FROM SAMPLING TO CREATING ORIGINAL MUSIC?

*Everybody knows that creating beats is challenging, I mean, it’s pretty obvious because there’s not enough dope producers out here that are so call professionals. What I’m trying to ask is that, how did you know what types of equipments to use and buy as far as Audio interface and mixing boards?

*I seen on one of your videos that you started off using reasons (music software program). Why that program? Why not fruity loops and q-base.

* So now that you’re using logic, were the transitions from using reason to logic difficult?

*do you ever get frustrated ever using new equipments and programs?

* I see that you use live instruments, did you have any previous training prior.

King of Memphis Dj Paul Chops it Up with Saytue Saye About His New Album – For I Have Sinned

Listen Live to King of Memphis Dj Paul on Mixture of Arts

King of Memphis Dj Paul06

If it’s any group from the 90’s that kept the clubs, schools, and cars bumping, it will have to be Three 6 Mafia. Known for their dark, eerie tracks driven by bass-heavy beats and haunting sounds, the group brought a different sound during that time that kept everybody getting Krunk or smoking marijuana to their songs.

All 6 members: Crunchy Black, Gangsta Boo, Koopsta Knicca, DJ Paul, Juicy J, and Lord infamous are all from Memphis Tennessee. All Three 6 Mafia beats went hard, every verse hit your brain bringing that sugar rush to your body making you feel freaking awesome and insane.

After several years of establishing their career, the team decides to expand their brand by putting out solo albums, compilations and bringing out other affiliates such as: Project Pat, Al Kapone, La Chat, Lil Wyte, T-Rock, Killa Klan Kaze, Playa Fly and Indo G.The streets were definitely watching and listening; 3 6 Mafia was everywhere.

In 2006, Krunchy Blak left the group saying that he wanted to create a solo album that DJ Paul and Juicy J put off for years. With just the two producers, DJ Paul and Juicy J had their reality show, “Adventures in Hollywood”, and have appeared in other TV shows.

Academy Award-winning rap group Three 6 Mafia made a huge step when DJ Paul won an Academy Award for Best Original Song for “It’s Hard out Here for a Pimp” from the movie “Hustle and Flow”.

Paul Beauregard aka DJ Paul is one of the best DJ-producers on the south side of Memphis. At the beginning, he and his older half brother Lord Infamous released self-recorded tapes in their neighborhood, school, and local shops.  Putting out the first tape, “Portrait of a Serial Killa” and other mixtapes, DJ Paul met up with Juicy J and formed The Backyard Po, which later changed to Triple 6 Mafia.

As you can see, DJ Paul and Juicy J was the core of 3 6 Mafia.  In 2012, he has his own BBQ shop in Memphis and his new album, “For I Have Sinned” will be release April 19, 2012. Everything in this album is produced by him. The first single entitled, “Smokin’ & Fuckin” has a tune of “Come Go with Me” by Teddy Pendergrass.

His other album A Person of Interest will be in stores June 2012.

Don’t miss the opportunity to chat LIVE with DJ Paul from Three 6 Mafia. We will chop it up about his new album “For I Have Sinned”…. Tune in this week on 4/17/2012. Go to the page and subscribe for a reminder!!!
